In a surprising message on Wednesday night, the board of Apple announced that Steve Jobs is resigning as CEO of the company. Apple COO Tim Cook was named the successor to Jobs, “and plans to begin taking over as CEO with immediate effect.

“Extraordinary vision and leadership of Steve saved Apple, and controls the position as the most innovative and valuable technology in the world”, an Apple board member Art Levinson, President of Genentech said in a statement. “Steve has been part of many successes of Apple, and has attracted and inspired by the great creative team of Apple and world-class management team. In his new role as Chairman of the Board, Steve, Apple will continue to serve its unique insights, creativity and inspiration. ”

In 2004, Jobs was complicated surgery, but successful to remove pancreatic cancer, and he returned to work in a few months. Although this procedure is a form of success of pancreatic cancer that Jobs was also removes a lot of the pancreas and digestive tract. This may lead to further complications, such as dramatic weight loss and hit Labour visible ‘in 2008.

In 2009, Jobs went on leave to six months sick again, it was later revealed that Steve Jobs had had a liver transplant. All seemed well after his return until January 2011, where Jobs announced a new time he went on sick leave, this time Apple fans felt he could not come back.

Below is the text of the letter of employment “to the board and the Apple community which has been circulated on Wednesday night:

To the Board of Directors of Apple and the Apple community:

I have always said that if ever there came a day when I could no longer fulfill my duties and expectations as CEO of Apple, I’d be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day comes.

So, Apple CEO to resign. I want to serve, if the Council deems it appropriate, as the Chairman of the Board, Director and Apple employee.

What are the consequences of my going, I strongly recommend to implement our succession plan and the name of Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

I think the bright days and more innovative Apple is ahead of her. And we hope to see and contribute to its success in a new role.

I made some of the best friends of my life from Apple, and I thank you all for many years that we can work with you.

Web.config exposes an element that can be used as a place to store application settings like connection strings, file paths, etc. Using the web.config is an ideal method of creating a robust application that can quickly adapt to changes in its environment. For instance, if the connection string is stored in web.config and is being called from the web-pages from there, then changes in the connection string will have to be made in web.config only. Otherwise, the user would have to go to each page individually and update the connection string.

Let us look at a basic web.config which holds our connection string.

To read the connection setting from the Config file, you have to use a single line of code:

Multiple Config Files

The appSettings element can contain a file attribute that points to an external file. I will change my web.config file to look like the following:

Next, we can create the external file "externalSettings.config" and add an appSettings section with our connection information and any other settings that we want to use.

If the external file is present, ASP.Net combines the appSettings values from web.config with those in the external file. If a key/value exists in both files, then ASP.Net will use the setting from the external file.

This feature is useful when one keeps user-specific or environment-specific settings in the external file. It is better to design web.config to contain those settings that are global, while each user setting is contained in an external file. This approach makes it easier to move around global web.config changes.

One caution to this approach is that ASP.Net runtime does not detect when the external file changes. Thus to launch a new version of the application with all changes in effect, one will need to make changes to the web.config itself.
